While working out some of the kinks on a certain pattern back in the spring I knit a plain black head wrap. I was never quite sure what to do with it, so I kind of just left it alone and it sank to the depths of my project bag, seemingly doomed.
Some time later, I was experimenting with knitting a flower. I’ve tried so many things…knitting individual petals (I don’t suggest that; it takes forever and there’s a lot of shaping involved), knitting different shapes and ruching (scrunching it up to look like a flower), etc. I was getting frustrated because my attempts were turning out more like amorphous yarn blobs than delicate little flowers. Finally I created something that looked a little more like a blossom in a bright, sunny yellow color, but I didn’t really know where to put it.
Enter plain black head wrap. I ended up attaching the yellow flower to the black band, and it looks great! There’s evidence that two unrelated items can be a match made in heaven, I guess…
Here are some pictures of the finished product!
Note: the yellow-gold color is still available for custom orders!
Perfect for the summer sun, don’t you think? If you like this item, you can find it in my shop here!
