It’s been a moment……
This has been the craziest year yet for me in school. Now that I think about it, it’s the things outside of all the normal things I have to do that are making me so busy. I have been working on several collaborative art pieces, where I’m dancing or choreographing in conjunction with work of musicians and other artists as well. However, I still love my knitting time and I’ve recently finished these two ADORABLE baby/child blankets. (Lots of baby orders lately–I love it! The yarn is always nice to work with because it’s extra soft…it’s the little things.)
If you love Disney, you’re going to lose it.
…Is that….is that Mickey Mouse??
Yeah. Yeah, it is.
These adorable blankets in bright primary colors feature Mickey Mouse silhouettes in blocks. An added bonus–they look a little different on either side, but still like Mickey!
You can easily see the pattern in this photo of the yellow blanket, made with Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice Yarn in “Duckie.”
The yarn is a little different for the red blanket. My client wanted a really bright red, and unfortunately the Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice Baby Yarn didn’t have anything that matched, so I used Red Heart Soft in “Really Red.” It’s a beautiful color (although somewhat inaccurate in these photos–blues, reds, and purples are hard to capture accurately), and so soft, as the name would indicate.
The finished size of this blanket is approximately 4’x4.5′ (although there is some stretch as well), a little longer on one side. It’s the perfect baby blanket, lap blanket for bigger kids, and super cozy for everyone!
